Frequently Asked Questions

Don't see yours? Call (423) 599-8334.

How thick should my concrete driveway be?

Standard residential driveways are typically four inches thick, while areas that will hold heavier vehicles or trailers should be closer to five or six inches. Proper base compaction matters as much as thickness, especially over the clay soil common across East Tennessee.

How long before I can use new concrete?

Foot traffic is usually fine after twenty four hours. Most concrete reaches enough strength for vehicle traffic in about seven days, and full cure strength is reached at twenty eight days. We will give you specific timing based on the slab and conditions when we pour.

Why does concrete crack over time?

Most cracking comes from poor base prep, missing or undersized reinforcement, or water issues underneath the slab. Pairing concrete work with proper storm water management in problem areas keeps moisture from undermining the slab during freeze and thaw cycles.

Can you tear out and replace existing concrete?

Yes. We handle full demolition, haul away, base rebuild, and new pour. If the slab failed because of grading or drainage issues, we can also build a retaining wall or correct the surrounding grade so the new concrete does not fail the same way.

How much does a concrete project cost?

Cost depends on size, thickness, demolition needs, finish type, reinforcement, and access to the work area. We will scope the project, walk through the details with you, and get a free quote here tailored to your job.

What areas do you pour concrete in?

We pour concrete across Cleveland, Athens, Birchwood, Charleston, Chattanooga, Georgetown, Hixson, McDonald, Ooltewah, Ringgold, Rossville, and the surrounding areas. View our full service area here.

What is the best time of year to pour concrete in Tennessee?

Concrete can be poured throughout most of the year in Tennessee, but spring, summer, and fall generally provide the most favorable conditions. Temperature, moisture, and curing conditions all play a role in long-term durability.
